This song was recorded alongside
Bernadette, a week
before my first tour with GNR in May 2006. The vocals are inspired by
Engelbert Humperdinck's cover of the song, and my affinity for feel-good loungy songs of the '60s & '70s, contrasted by a wall of guitars and
the Dennis's
drum reflections filling the room. Smooth vocals over driven
intense instruments, love the contrast....
Rhythm guitars were with the
Line6 Vetta2 combo, the same one I lugged in my car a week later to
those GNR NYC warm-up gigs at the Hammerstein. While mixing this song in
mid-July 2011 I added the end guitar solo, using the
Vigier Bfoot
'09 guitar
on the neck pickup (DiMarzio Chopper) through the
Engl Invader100 head.
And here it is, song #7 in the 2011 song-a-month series, enjoy!! |
