important members of Guns N 'Roses, Bumblefoot tells about his stay in
GN'R, about tour and more.1- I imagine that your life has changed since you are in GN'R. How did change your life since you joined to GN'R? Life doesn't feel any different. Just more gray hairs in my beard now, haha. Before GNR I was writing, recording, touring, promoting, teaching, collaborating, producing, engineering, and taking care of all the managing and business. Before GNR there would be 7 people with the flu spending 10 hours in a van sleeping on piles of equipment playing shows every night, pissing in bottles while we drive because we don't have time to stop for a bathroom break. Now with GNR, I can get flu medicine while on tour. And I don't have to sleep on equipment. And I don't piss in a bottle, we just show up late. 2- What do you tell us about recording your parts of guitar in Chinese Democracy? I'd spend 10 to 14 hours each day in the studio trying different guitars, amps, settings, for every song. Would try all different directions - melodic, funky, technical, lay down a hundred tracks and then decisions would be made about what would be used in the song. Did that for rhythm guitars, lead guitars... we recorded at a few studios in LA and NYC in October 2006, and January 2007. 3- What's your personal favorite song of Chinese Democracy? and, to play on stage? I like Shackler's and Scraped for the energy. And Catcher, such nice melodies.... 4- Do you'll like make any video of some song of Chinese Democracy, which? No video stuff to speak of, not at this point. 5- Are you working on new songs and solo material that you're going to throw? I have a hard time writing on the road. And we've been on the road a lot. I haven't been able to get my head where it needs to be so I can dig deep and start writing. Usually takes some kind of big mental trauma to kick-start an album. That's how it happened for Normal and Abnormal, I'm sure it'll happen again... 6- You know, the crowd in Argentina It's incredible. How do you feel the public in Argentina? surprised you? Do you want to come back? What a crazy f**king crowd. You guys do it right. All of Latin America really - wildest crowds, LOVED it. Would love to come back.
7- How to organize
to play every part of the songs between You, Richard & DJ, in live? Usually when choosing who will play a guitar part, we go into a field with swords and start swinging at each other. The last person standing goes to the side and sits down. The other two guitarists wrap gauze around their wounds, get back up and grab these big heavy mallets and start swinging at each other again. And then, the last person standing wins - they don't have to play the guitar part. 8- What's your favorite solo? any new solo to the next shows? I like the Shackler's solo, playing the fretted and fretless, then the crazy tapping at the end while singing the chorus. Keeps me busy. If I don't stay busy I start making trouble. 9- What was the best performance show for you so far? Something about the very last show we did, in Denmark. I don't know if anyone else would agree with me, but to me that was our best show. It just felt like a finely tuned machine on stage. 10- How rehearse are? Do you have any story to tell us? Usually we get together for a few days before a tour starts. We'll go through the songs, and start to remember how to play them. By the 4th show of the tour we remember. 11- What do you think of DailyBetter? do you like it? :) Yes, it's a much better site than DailyOK and DailyNotSoGood. DailyBetter. En una entrevista recientemente realizada a uno de los
miembros mas importantes de Guns N' Roses, Bumblefoot nos cuenta acerca
de su estadia en GN'R, sobre la gira y más. 1 - Me imagino que tu vida ha cambiado desde que estas en Guns N 'Roses. ¿Cómo cambió tu vida desde que te uniste a Guns N 'Roses? La vida no se siente ta diferente. Sólo pelos más grises en mi barba ahora, jaja. Antes de GNR estaba escribiendo, grabando, giras, la promoción, la enseñanza, la colaboración, producción, ingeniería, y teniendo cuidado de todos los organos de gestión y los negocios. Antes de GNR serían unas 7 personas con gastos contra la gripe, 10 horas en una camioneta durmiendo sobre pilones de equipos tocando shows todas las noches, meando en botellas, mientras que conducia porque no teniamos tiempo de parar para ir al baño. Ahora, con GNR, me pueden dar medicamento contra la gripe mientras estaba de gira. Y no tener que dormir sobre los equipos. Y no mear en una botella, nosotros tan solo llegamos tarde. 2 - ¿Qué nos puedes contar sobre la grabación de algunas partes de tu guitarra en Chinese Democracy? Pasaba 10 a 14 horas cada día en el estudio tratando con diferentes guitarras, amplificadores, configuraciones para cada canción. Podía probar todas las diferentes direcciones - melódico, funky, técnico, hacer un centenar de pistas y luego las decisiones se tomaban sobre las que se usaría en la canción. Nosotros hicimos guitarra rítmica, guitarra solista ... que grabamos en un par de estudios en Los Ángeles y Nueva York en octubre de 2006 y enero de 2007. 3 - ¿Cuál es tu canción favorita personal de Chinese Democracy? y, para tocar en el escenario? Me gusta Shackler's y Scraped por la energía. Y de Catcher, como las melodías agradables .... 4 - ¿Te gustaría hacer cualquier video de alguna canción de Chinese Democracy, cual? Nada para decir acerca de videos, no en este momento. 5 - ¿Estás trabajando en nuevas canciones y material como solista, que luego vas a lanzar? Tengo dificultades para escribir en el camino. Y hemos estado en el camino mucho tiempo. No he podido conseguir que mi cabeza este donde tenga que estar para que yo pueda profundizar y empezar a escribir. Usualmente, te da algún tipo de trauma mental grande para poner en marcha un álbum. Así es como ocurrió, con Normal y Abnormal, estoy seguro de que va a suceder de nuevo ... 6 - Ya sabes, la gente en Argentina es increíble. ¿Cómo te sentiste con el público en la Argentina? Te sorprendió? ¿Quisieras volver? ¡Qué f**king loco público. Ustedes lo hacen bien. Toda América Latina realmente - públicos salvajes, LO AMO. Me encantaría volver.  7 - ¿Cómo se organizan para tocar cada parte de las canciones entre vos, Richard y DJ en vivo? Por lo general, la hora de elegir quién tocará una parte de guitarra, entramos en un campo con espadas y comenzamos a luchar el uno al otro. La última persona de pie va a un lado y se sienta. Los otros dos guitarristas toman gasa para envolver sus heridas, vuelven a subir y agarran esos mazas pesadas grandes y empezar a pelear de nuevo. Y luego, la última persona en pie gana - ellos no tienen que tocar la parte de guitarra. 8 - ¿Cuál es tu solo favorito? algún nuevo solo para los próximos conciertos? Me gusta el solo de Shackler's, tocando los trastes y fretless, entonces entramos en una locura tocando el final mientras cantamos el coro. Me mantiene ocupado. Si no me mantengo ocupado, empiezo a hacer problemas. 9 - ¿Cuál fue el mejor show para vos hasta ahora? Algo del último show que hicimos, en Dinamarca. No sé si alguien más estará de acuerdo conmigo, pero para mí ese fue nuestro mejor show. Simplemente, me parecía como una máquina bien afinada en el escenario. 10 - ¿Cómo son los ensayos? ¿Tienes alguna historia que contarnos? Por lo general, nos juntamos unos días antes de que una gira comienze. Repasamos las canciones, y empezamos a recordar para tocar luego. Para el cuarto show de la gira lo recordamos. 11 - ¿Qué opinasde DailyBetter? te gusta? :) Sí, es un sitio mucho mejor que DailyOK y DailyNotSoGood.
