Guns N' Roses' stars play at Witchwood School of Rock

Rock royalty were guests of honour during a surprise gig at an Oxfordshire music centre.

Guns N Roses' guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and drummer Frank Ferrer took a break from their world tour to meet young fans.

They went to the Witchwood School of Rock, Witney, where they offered some advice and jammed with budding stars.

Ferrer joked he was more nervous talking to the children than playing for thousands of fans in London.

'Boyhood dream'

He said: "I'm actually more nervous going and talking to the kids than I am playing in front of 20,000 people, because you don't see them.

"Here you're going to see every little kid's face."

The school, in Shipton-under-Wychwood, organises workshops for young rock fans and is in Prime Minister David Cameron's constituency. The children are all aged between six and 18.

One of the organisers, Mike Dove, said:"The butterflies are still going around in my stomach.

"They had coffee in my house this morning so it's a bit crazy, I've realised a bit of a boyhood dream."
